Sense on Cents 2011 Halls of Fame and Shame

America wakes up this morning hopeful for a new year filled with peace and prosperity. Sense on Cents welcomes spreading our spirit of optimism.

Before we move forward, though, let’s take an accounting of 2011 and induct those most deserving into our Sense on Cents’ 2011 Halls of Fame and Shame.

Prior to our induction ceremony today, I am sure there are many in the crowd who may want to review our past award winners. On that note, I humbly submit:

Without truth, can we ever determine right from wrong and good from bad?

Without transparency, can we ever get to the truth?

Without integrity, can those with ill gotten gains ever be prosecuted?

Without an undying and unbridled passion for truth, transparency, and integrity how can our nation thrive? I am deadly serious. We are nowhere close to thriving currently. (more…)

Volcker and Lewitt Drop Bombs on Financial Regulatory Reform

Will financial regulatory reform truly change the Wall Street landscape and insure that America never again experiences the economic crisis of the last few years? While we will likely see a number of our political operatives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and on Capitol Hill waving flags and banging drums when the reform measures are inevitably passed, let’s listen to some political and financial insiders who have a different take.

Paul Volcker, former Fed chairman and current White House economic adviser, is clearly looking to clear his name prior to the passage of this reform.
