What really happened in the markets on Thursday May 6th? Can regulators truly address the underlying issues that caused the ‘flash crash’ or are our equity exchanges fundamentally and structurally broken?
How can you protect yourself in the face of such unbelievable volatility? Who benefits and who loses in the face of this volatility?
Will circuit breakers proposed by regulators work? Will we witness more days like May 6th?
If you have any interest in our markets and our economy, you will not want to miss my show this Sunday evening from 8-9pm ET as No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Welcomes Back Joe Saluzzi. >>>> (more…)

The challenges on our economic landscape remain daunting. While employment and manufacturing may be stabilizing, the housing and mortgage markets remain mired with real issues.
The issues within housing and mortgages are at the base of our economic crisis encompassing both Wall Street and Washington. From structured transactions on Wall Street to financial regulatory reforms in Washington, the issues ultimately come back to housing and mortgages. I will discuss all these issues on Sunday evening from 8-9pm ET as No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Welcomes Bill Berliner. Bill Berliner is uniquely qualified to address these topics. (more…)

A government that operates without transparency and integrity while continually mortgaging our children’s future is a recipe for disaster.
A government that cozies up to large monied interests and looks to redistribute wealth leaves a large swath of America totally disenfranchised.
This government, as described above, occupies space on both sides of our political aisle.
Hard working Americans are voicing their discontent, if not total outrage, at our government via a movement that is sweeping our nation. While the political elite would like to dismiss this movement, and the media would like to marginalize it, the Tea Party movement is gaining traction and momentum.
Please join me this Sunday evening April 18th from 8-9pm ET as No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Is Having a Tea Party. I will be ‘having tea’ with Matt Clemente and Brendan Steinhauser of Freedom Works, a grassroots organization that is making an enormous impact on our national political and economic landscape with the Tea Party movement:
Founded in 1984, FreedomWorks is headquartered in Washington, DC, and has hundreds of thousands of grassroots volunteers nationwide.
What We Do
FreedomWorks recruits, educates, trains and mobilizes hundreds of thousands of volunteer activists to fight for less government, lower taxes, and more freedom. Why We Do It
FreedomWorks believes individual liberty and the freedom to compete increases consumer choices and provides individuals with the greatest control over what they own and earn. How We Do It
FreedomWorks’ aggressive, real-time campaigns activate a growing and permanent volunteer grassroots army to show up and demand policy change.

If 70% of our economy is driven by the consumer, and Sense on Cents is trying to help people navigate the “economic” landscape, then prudence dictates we drill deeper into how the American consumer is doing during these challenging times.
What drives consumer behavior? How is the consumer adapting his/her personal spending habits? What triggers personal consumption? How can we source this information without being captive to the heavily massaged data provided by the government or industries with inherent bias? Well, if you are interested in learning more you have come to the right place as this Sunday evening from 8-9pm ET, No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Welcomes Rick Davis.
Richard C. Davis is the founder and President of the Consumer Metrics Institute. The Consumer Metrics Institute grew out of Mr. Davis’ frustration with the lack of timeliness and poor quality of information available to individual investors about the consumer economy in the United States.
“It became clear to me that nearly all of the so-called ‘Leading Indicators’ available to individual investors were in fact no more timely or leading than last month’s account statements,” he says. (more…)

Feedback from my initial conversation with Steve Megremis of The Daily Bail was so overwhelming that I am compelled to have Steve back on No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle this Sunday evening from 8-9pm ET.
I first spoke with Steve in mid-January. Given the pace of developments in Washington, on Wall Street, and at so many other points on our economic and political landscape, I am thrilled to have him back on the show. We will leave no stone unturned in discussing healthcare, financial regulatory reform, the Fed, Lehman Bros., and so much more. I guarantee we will pull no punches in promoting truth, transparency, and integrity in our discussion. Don’t miss it!! (more…)

How are some people able to see the forest for the trees? Why do certain individuals look left when everybody else is going right? What drives people to embrace risk?
We can learn so much from studying the career paths, thoughts, and views of those who have achieved remarkable accomplishments. That said, where can we go and what can we study that addresses the common characteristics and highlights the common denominators of these individuals?
You have come to the right place as this Sunday evening (8-9pm ET) No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Welcomes Rick Smith.

There is no doubt we are navigating a challenging, if not treacherous, economic landscape. As with any challenging trip, prudence dictates we utilize all resources at our disposal. That said, there is no resource more valuable than that of experience. Whether involved in the markets or other business pursuits, the ability to gain the wisdom of those who have gone before us is priceless.
In this spirit, I am a huge proponent of the merits and benefits of mentoring. What greater gift can one give than the sage advice garnered from one’s experience. There is no greater gift for a businessperson than to point the way forward for future generations.
As we continue to navigate our current economic landscape and the peaks and valleys along the way, I am honored to have Bill Venezia join me this Sunday evening (8-9pm ET) on No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle.
Who is Bill Venezia? One of Wall Street’s giants, Bill was without a doubt the top bond salesman on the street. As good a salesman as Bill was, and he was the best, he is a better human being. Let’s learn more about Mr. Venezia:

Who would have projected the twists and turns we have experienced on our global economic landscape? Who would have forecasted the ups and downs in the markets? Where can one turn to gain riveting insights and perspectives from some of the sharpest minds in the market today?
Welcome to No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle as I welcome Keith Fitz-Gerald to my show this Sunday evening November 8th at 8pm. So, who is Keith Fitz-Gerald? From Keith’s own website, we learn:
