Memorial Day 2013: Honoring Our Fallen Heroes
Posted by Larry Doyle on May 27th, 2013 8:36 AM |
In the midst of thinking about the greatest sacrifice made by the countless numbers of fallen American heroes this Memorial Day morning, I navigated my way to this National Memorial Day Concert site.
Let us pay our respect to all those men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in all the conflicts and battles that have been waged to protect our freedom.
I do not possess nor do I believe that there are words that might properly convey the respect and honor our fellow citizens deserve who have made this sacrifice and paid immeasurable personal costs so that we can be free. I salute you.
I hope people who see this post will take a few minutes to scan the attached photos below of cemeteries in Europe for these fallen heroes from WWII knowing full well that there are hallowed grounds elsewhere in the world and here at home as well where our heroes lay from battles waged faraway so we may remain safe and free.

Happy 4th of July: God Bless America, Yep, God!!

Every day is a great day to be an American but no day more so than the 4th of July.
Memories of fireworks, family outings, barbecues, ice cream, and baseball are truly special. Today’s activities will be tomorrow’s memories of national pride for our youth.
In an attempt to heighten the pride in our country I am heartened to take a step back in time and share one of the top 100 moments in baseball history. I thank the reader who shared this fabulous clip with me and I welcome sharing it with others.
The play highlighted is TRULY special. (more…)
Life is Precious
Posted by Larry Doyle on January 9th, 2011 8:43 PM |
As I contemplated writing about the Friday Employment Report or the ongoing issues within the European debt crisis or the prospects for the market, my mind kept coming back to something so much more important. That is, life itself.
I can not put into words how badly I feel and how much I empathize with the families impacted by the tragedy that occurred in Tucson, AZ this weekend. Situations such as this tragedy once again raise the unanswerable question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?”
While there are those who may want to politicize this tragedy, I care to direct my focus and attention elsewhere. To the families of those who lost their loved ones yesterday, “I am sorry. Our collective national heart breaks with yours. We care.”
For those who were injured yesterday, including Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), our prayers go out to you for a full and total physical and emotional recovery.

To our nation as a whole, let us never forget and always appreciate that “life is precious.” Let us also understand that there is a power of evil in our presence. This evil left unchecked will continue to erode the very core of our nation. Let us lead the charge against those individuals and those practices which promote evil. How so? Be an active and consistent force for love, charity, and hope. Choose joy!!
Our children are counting on us to do nothing less.
God Bless America.
