If 70% of our economy is driven by the consumer, and Sense on Cents is trying to help people navigate the “economic” landscape, then prudence dictates we drill deeper into how the American consumer is doing during these challenging times.

What drives consumer behavior? How is the consumer adapting his/her personal spending habits? What triggers personal consumption? How can we source this information without being captive to the heavily massaged data provided by the government or industries with inherent bias? Well, if you are interested in learning more you have come to the right place as this Sunday evening from 8-9pm ET, No Quarter Radio’s Sense on Cents with Larry Doyle Welcomes Rick Davis.

Richard C. Davis is the founder and President of the Consumer Metrics Institute. The Consumer Metrics Institute grew out of Mr. Davis’ frustration with the lack of timeliness and poor quality of information available to individual investors about the consumer economy in the United States.

“It became clear to me that nearly all of the so-called ‘Leading Indicators’ available to individual investors were in fact no more timely or leading than last month’s account statements,” he says. “I also knew that data was already being collected that could allow individual investors to know how consumers are acting day-to-day. The only problem was developing analytical techniques capable of delivering that information to the investing public several times per week.”

One consistent strategy utilized by Mr. Davis during his entire career has been to push the data collection process as far up-stream as possible, developing technologies that capture critical data as close to the original source as conceivable. The internet has finally made the capture of vast amounts of data about consumer economic activities on a real-time basis practical. Mr. Davis created the Consumer Metrics Institute to acquire and channel that information to the individual investor in a timely manner.

I very much look forward to channeling the information and insight of Rick Davis and his work at the Consumer Metrics Institute to you this Sunday evening at 8pm.

All the insight with none of the spin or nonsense provided by those trying to sell you something. I can assure you that you will learn things and get a forward look at the economy that will more than pique your interest. Bring a friend and listen live at the Blog Talk Radio Website.
