Weekend Video: Dr. Benjamin Carson’s Sense on Cents Instant Classic (Strongly Recommended)

Posted by Larry Doyle on February 9, 2013 7:43 AM |

There have been few deliveries I have heard since writing this blog over the last four years that have inspired me as much as that which I watched and heard last evening. I so appreciated it I watched it twice.

I thank the longtime reader who shared this speech given by Dr. Benjamin Carson, a leading pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins. If you were to ever wonder what Sense on Cents hopes to convey, Carson touches almost all the bases in this delivery at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on February 7th.

In a mere 25 minutes, Carson knocks it out of the park multiple times in his eloquent remarks on faith, family, respect, speaking one’s mind, the danger of a politically correct society, education, determination, self-destiny, charity (the Carson Scholars Program), fiscal sanity, health care, tax policy, patriotism, and so much more.

Carson not only gains immediate induction into the Sense on Cents Hall of Fame with this delivery, but I just put him into his own wing.

I was not so sure that we still had men like Dr. Carson. Thank God we do.

If you are looking for a little inspiration in the midst of all the garbage that spews forth from so many outlets within our society, then watch this clip. Please encourage your children to watch as well. Let me know what you think of his remarks. (Expand your screen to get the full effect.)

Navigate accordingly!!

A rare Statesman in our midst, not a bag man.

Very strong sentiments – well delivered and with a common sense message…Dr Carson makes a great case for thoughtful political dialogue, bipartisan realities, a faith based appreciation of the community good, and we shouldn’t lose sight of his tribute to the intrinsic love of his single parent mother, the importance of a good education, and the power of being an agent of change…nice speech

WOW! TOTALLY INSPIRING!! How about Carson for President in 2016??

Dr. Carson’s autobiography was required summer reading for freshmen entering the honors program of our public high school back in the late 90s and early 2000s. The book is no longer on the school summer reading list. How the world has changed in the past 15 years!! The book, Gifted Hands, should be required reading for ALL U.S. citizens!

I am going to order his newest book, America the Beautiful, immediately!

Thank You, This was the best video I have seen in a long time. Mr. Carson’s words were so right and I have to say when I looked at the President and think you should not be there Mr. Carson’s should be.

What a mess we are in and no help from President makes me sick he is in office again. The pain and agony people are suffering with no leadership is inhumane he does not care at all. Thank You again,

Obama was one unhappy camper !!! The body and facial language gave away everything.

    Great Video, great speech.

    Thank you,

Thanks for sharing this Larry! Read his book, watched the TV program. A great man of God.

I did notice that our President wasn’t too enthralled by the content.

    Too bad.

Amen, brother! I watched it yesterday and was thanking God for men like Benjamin Carson.

Barack Obama should be ashamed of himself for the feigned attention, if not outright derision, he displayed while Dr. Carson was speaking.

      Chris –

It appeared to me that President Obama was looking down, reading his Blackberry during Dr. Carson’s remarks. Not very respectful.

Thought this was a great video. It was uplifting that a person could speak his mind and say the important things, simply but forcefully.
