God Bless America!!

Posted by Larry Doyle on July 3, 2011 6:49 PM |

I hope that you are able to enjoy the holiday weekend celebrating our nation’s birth with family and friends. While many may not be able to celebrate with their loved ones, let us especially remember those who are serving our nation at this very moment.

As many across our land send off fireworks in celebration, those fireworks are truly an expression of the freedom we all enjoy.

Freedom is never free. Let us never forget that…

It’s the soldier, not the reporter who has given us
Freedom of the Press.
It’s the soldier, not the poet, who has given us
Freedom of Speech.
It’s the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the
Freedom to Demonstrate.
It’s the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the
Right to a Fair Trial.
It’s the soldier who salutes the flag, serves under the flag and
whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who gives the protestor the right to burn the flag.

To all those in our Armed Forces protecting our nation, I thank you and salute you.

May God bless you and may God bless America!!

First off, you cannot call yourself an american if you do not even comprehend the most basic tenets of human government, America, and even the source of freedom in and of itself. You regurgitate tired platitudes who’s only real purpose is to reveal utter idiots in their simple minded adherence to the mindless drudgery that emerges from the most evil recesses of stupid people’s minds. It is precisely reporters, journalists, free thinkers, and challengers and questioners of authority whom we have to thank for freedom, not soldiers. For every action of soldiers and the military that can only tangentially be associated with assuring freedom, there are thousands of other examples where “reporters” have assured it in far greater effectiveness and numbers; many times even having to assure it in spite of the same soldiers you mindlessly hold in undue regard. Your mind is so dysfunctional and ravaged by bias you cannot think clearly or in a principled manner. There is no difference between the pernicious principles you lie to yourself about not having, and those of people and threats whom your delusion imagines “soldiers” protect you from.

  • Really? Do you believe that yourself or are you just shoveling it?

      Marc and Singapura,

Welcome to Sense on Cents and congratulations for having the freedom to express yourself here at my blog. How nice.

Perhaps you may care to review the efforts of wounded veterans and those who support them. In the midst of that, which of the wars would you have chosen for our nation to lose? WW I, WWII, ….?

Are you willing to denigrate the efforts of all those currently serving our nation? Might you want to thank them instead for their service?

Review the Wounded Warrior Project and come back to us.

      I am not pro-war. I am pro-freedom, but freedom isn’t free.

      Where were you on 9/11?

What do you think many of the crowds engaged in civil unrest around the world care to achieve? Freedom of oppression, perhaps?

Where did I write that America is perfect? Nope. Didn’t say that.

Do you like your freedoms? Including your freedom to express your comments here?

Think you could do that in every country?

Additionally, for Marc especially, we’re big on RESPECT around here. You display little of that. I guess that is not uncommon amongst your crowd. Too bad.

Happy 4th of July….oh, by the way, God Bless America!!

Marc & Singapura; I echo LD’s comment congratulating you on exercising the freedom so many of our warrior heroes have bled and died to provide you. I however cannot show as much restraint as LD. As far as I am concerned, you can go #!*^ yourself and join the other scum who denigrate the greatest of our citizens. Hopefully some day soon you encounter the haters of freedom and the United States of America…terrorist scum who would just as soon kill you as look you in the eye…perhaps then you will belatedly appreciate our truest heroes….the men and women of the U.S. Military. God Bless America! Ed

Larry- Your tribute to our soldiers brought me to tears, especially the last three sentences. I watched as my father was draped in the flag as he was a WWII veteran, cleaning up the aftermath in Okinowa, still fighting and not knowing the war had ended, not seeing brother born. My husband’s best friend is now a parapeligic from Vietman, and still a patriot for this country. These are the people that give us the ability to make freedom a reality. Without them, we could be under control of another Hitler, or an Osama bin Landen, G-d forbid.

Thank you to all soldiers everywhere for defending our right to be free and allowing us the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for putting yourselves in harms way to provide other countries the opportunity to learn what a free county can be like.
