Fox Business Highlights Need for SEC Transparency

Posted by Larry Doyle on July 29, 2010 12:33 PM |

Kudos to Fox Business News for leading the charge within the financial media on the need for real transparency at the SEC. FBN’s Adam Schapiro was just on chatting with Stuart Varney on this very important topic. Listen to Adam, and ponder his comments in light of the Madoff and Stanford travesties that took place literally right under the nose of the SEC. Who is the SEC protecting?

Who are the SEC protecting? Could they be protecting those who contribute such large funds to their friends on the Hill? Go after selected scams but they are so far behind the curve and they are inhibited by the “Money, money, money…money!!” Plus we know they are operating with pea-shooters compared to the computer generated bazookas on Wall Street.

This is simply further evidence that the SEC should be abolished and start anew with an agency to protect investors. This has Mary Shapiro’s fingerprints adorned all over it. She brought her affinity for the opaque from FINRA to SEC. At minimum she needs to be fired, so she can go to work for the people for whom she in reality does “work.”
