This is a variance of my favorite book Atlas Shrugged. Instead of the rich producers giving up when they are taxed until nothing is left, the current ultra rich buy off the politicians with campaign cash and lobbyists. For this they get welfare for their business that is too big to fail, no jail time and given a new global warming trading credits business. They (rich who own the media) try to distract us with the battle of Dems vs. Repubs, but it is really Heads they win, Tails you lose. The skilled but powerless middle class is laid off as their jobs are shipped overseas, get no pay raise if they are lucky enough to keep their job, not given redistribution government $, increased taxes to pay for the looters and their saved dollars lose value. Their sons & daughters are slaughtered in the military because we really do not want to win the war and ignore the obvious terrorists because of diversity guidelines. We are not safer as this week pointed out. Bottom line, the ultra rich, labor unions (mostly government workers these days) and government designated disadvantaged minorities have formed a coalition to screw the vast non-minority middle class. In the old Russia the government pretended to pay the workers and the workers pretended to work. The Weimar Republic lead to hyper-inflation, demolition of the middle class, the Third Reich & WW II.
