The comments are very interesting, but they are hardly complete. The fall-out from government loan policy reaches into the academic loan field where the debts are high and for the most part beyond the income of the graduates, The agricultural loans which encumber food production are secreted away in both commercial and ag lenders. The one I worry about most however is the government and retirement programs (defined benefit) which are under water and poorly managed. The profligate life of the 20th Century is just larded with financial land mines that threaten our future.

The band is playing while the ship is taking on water. Sound familiar? Happy Talk. That is all these jackasses are doing is Happy Talk. Unemployment at 10 percent and the bankers, pot bellied pigs, are at the trough. Someone look up Sen. Shumer's deal with citigroup to do away with the wall between banks and other financial entities. That was America's financial Katrina. Now millions unemployed and houses under water. Shame on the Fed and the government.
